Safety Glass

Safety Glass comes in 2 forms, Toughened or Laminated.Toughened Glass or also known as ‘tempered glass’ is a Grade A Safety Glass, it is processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass, so when it is hit face on it does not smash but if tapped on the side it blows up into tiny chunks of glass, this glass is usually used for Fully Frameless Shower Screens and in Doors

  • Toughened Glass comes in 4m, 5m, 6m, 8m, 10m, 12m, 15m and 19m
  • Tinted Bronze/Grey Toughened Glass comes in 4m, 5m, 6m and 10m
  • Also most of our obscure glass range can also be toughened

 

Laminated Glass is a Grade A Safety Glass that has two pieces of float glass with a plastic interlay so holds together when shattered, for example, the picture above.

  • Laminated Glass comes in 6.38, 8.38, 10.38 and 12.38
  • Tinted Bronze/Grey Laminated Glass comes in 6.38, 8.38, 10.38 and 12.38
  • Laminated Glass is usually used for Fully Framed Shower Screens and in Doors
  • Laminated Glass also comes in a White opaque which is 6.38 and 10.38 and is mostly used for Door Sidelites
